QUELLING THE GARDENING URGE WITH GARDENING TV
Sounds like it's time for a little dose of some great British gardening television. Sadly there have been no midwinter episodes of Gardeners' World, but I was thrilled to find a new series of The Great British Garden Revival on Youtube. It's not my man Monty, but there is plenty of plant loving going on. Check them out to get your gardening fix.
Episode 2: Daffodils and blossoming trees and shrubs
Episode 3: Rhododendrens and carnations
Episode 4: Scented gardens and tulips
Episode 5: Lavender and knot gardens
Episode 6: Irises and ornamental grasses
Episode 7: Conifers and pelargaroniums
The second season of the Big Allotment Challenge, where they have a gardening competition and contestants compete in grow, make and eat challenges, is also playing now and episodes are going up a day or so after they air across the pond. It's not as fun as a real gardening show but it's better than nothing.

Haha, I'm watching the exact episode that is pictured above right now. You certainly got me hooked after sharing your BBC gardening finds last year. I'm always checking for new uploads now. : ) Have you watched A Year at Kew? Fabulous!! There are three seasons and they are so so interesting and fun too. Bodnant Rising is another good one I watched over December.
And YES I am ready for spring now, pretty please!!
Not Monty, but at least it's Carol and I love her passion! Can't wait to set myself down and watch these. Thanks for tipping us off to this new series. I so enjoyed catching all of Carol's other shows and watched every episode of Gardener's World early Sunday mornings this summer.
Thanks for the heads up! You got me hooked on British gardening shows with your informative post last year.
Thanks so much for the links: It's usually February before I need a garden video fix and have a collection of DVDs, but this will be a very nice addition to my stash! -Beth
Had never seen any of these so an evening was lost whenI discovered this post yesterday.
I've started my seeds through winter sowing and under lights but am dying to get out in the dirt. I'm not sure if watching these will calm me down or make it all worse. But I will give these a view on our next dreary day. :o)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! If not for you, I would never have known about Gardeners World. I've watched every available episode. I'm so excited to have these new shows to watch while I bide my time until Spring!
I'm so glad you're enjoying them, Maureen. I found another GREAT one (maybe my second favorite ever) that I'll share this week. It's so, so good!
